Hi! I’m Myrna, founder of The Nanny Collective.
I started The Nanny Collective with a vision that went far beyond offering just another childcare service.
Over time, I noticed subtle yet meaningful gaps in how families and nannies connect. There were moments when opportunities slipped by and care felt more like a transaction than a true relationship. But I also experienced what is possible when care is grounded in mutual respect, understanding, and real connection.
I knew there had to be a better way. With the right approach, I believed it was possible to transform how families and nannies work and grow together. Having lived abroad myself, I understand the challenges of expat life and finding trustworthy care. With a Master’s degree in International Business and over a decade of nanny experience, I combine academic insight with real-world understanding. Human connection is my superpower. I see family dynamics clearly and know what a household truly needs.
My journey began as a young au pair in New Zealand. I was nineteen, thousands of kilometers from my home in the Netherlands, entrusted with the care of two little girls. From day one, their parents treated me as an equal in their family. We talked about the girls not just practically but in a way that made me feel something bigger: that caring for children was about partnership, presence, and shared growth.

However, my journey has also shown me a different reality.
I have worked in daycare centers where schedules mattered more than individual needs and as a night nanny caring for newborns whose parents rarely asked how the night went. I have been valued like family in some homes and merely a placeholder in others.
Across countries and cultures, I saw a pattern: parents feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, and unsure if they were doing enough. They want more than care. They want clarity, trust, and connection.
That is why I founded The Nanny Collective. We are here to reimagine in-home childcare. When a nanny is trusted and intentionally matched with a family, magic happens. Families breathe easier. Children flourish. Homes become calmer and warmer. And nannies feel empowered to bring their whole hearts to their work.
