Frequently Asked Questions

At The Nanny Collective, we understand that choosing childcare is a big decision, and you deserve clear, honest answers. Below you’ll find responses to the most common questions families ask us. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we’re just a message away.

  • All of our nannies are carefully selected professionals with at least two years of full-time childcare experience. They’re fluent in English (many are multilingual), CPR and First Aid certified, and have verified references and a valid police check. Many also hold university degrees or child development training.

  • Each nanny goes through a thorough vetting process:

    • Background and police checks

    • Social media screening

    • Verified references

    • A structured trial period

    • Ongoing training and monthly check-ins.

This ensures a high standard of safety, reliability, and alignment with our values.

  • Yes! Many are bilingual or multilingual, perfect for families seeking language immersion or support in more than one language. Let us know your preference during your intake.

  • Absolutely. If you’re using our Flexible Care service, we’re happy to arrange a replacement—especially during the trial period—at no extra charge.

  • We understand that nannies may need time off due to illness or personal reasons. To anticipate such cases (within our Flexible Care option) we match you with both a Primary and a Supporting Nanny. If both are unavailable, we’ll arrange a temporary replacement for seamless care.

  • We invoice you monthly based on agreed minimum hours. Extra hours are added to the next month’s invoice. It’s simple and flexible.

  • Yes, our services are built around your needs. Whether you need morning drop-offs, afternoon pickups, or weekend support, we’ll tailor a solution that fits.

  • Purchased hours are valid for three months. You can roll over up to 5 unused hours to the next month, keeping things flexible without overbooking your nanny.

  • After your intake and placement fee (€100 for part-time), we’ll match you with a nanny. Once matched, you can schedule a trial day to ensure the fit is right.

  • Definitely. Our Flexible Care service is perfect for short-term stays or visitors. No contracts, no admin—just reliable care when you need it.

  • Flexible Care is for short-term or occasional support, with no contracts. Long-Term Hire is for consistent care (3–6+ months), includes legal support, and offers a structured, committed solution.

  • Yes. With Long-Term Hire, we manage payroll, contracts, and ensure legal compliance with Spanish employment law—so you’re fully supported.

  • Any expenses related to your child's care during outings, such as meals, tickets, or activity fees, should be covered by the family.
